Muru Mittigar Community Finance Hub – Supporting Our Community for Over 20 Years

For more than two decades, Muru Mittigar, a proud First Nations business, has been working alongside the community to create meaningful change. Based in Western Sydney, our Community Finance Hub provides free, safe and confidential financial services designed to support people when they need it most.

We welcome everyone who may need our services and accept walk-ins, phone, and online enquiries, as well as referrals from other community organisations.

Making a Difference in the Community

Since 2011, the Community Finance Hub has supported thousands of people through NILS and financial counselling. In 2016, we expanded our services with EAPA vouchers, and in 2020, introduced Oz Harvest food assistance.

To date, we have:

✔ Arranged over $2 million in no interest loans

No Interest Loans (NILs)

Life is full of unexpected expenses – from a broken washing machine to car repairs, medical needs or education costs. With NILs, you don’t need to turn to high-interest lenders.

✅ 0% interest and no fees – ever
✅ Borrow up to $2,000 for essential goods and services
✅ Borrow up to $3,000 for bond on a rental property or recovery from a natural disaster

Examples of what NILs can cover:

Appliances, whitegoods and furniture
Car repairs and maintenance
Medical, dental, and wellbeing expenses
Computers, laptops and technology
Education and employment-related costs

Note: NILs cannot be used for cash, bills, rent, or debts.

Am I Eligible?

You may qualify for a NILs loan if you:

Have a Health Care or Pension Card OR earn under the income threshold
Have lived at your current address for at least 3 months
Can show you are able to repay the loan

You’ll need to provide documents such as ID, proof of income, recent bank transactions and a quote for the item you’re applying for.
