About Us

Christopher Galloway, CEO

“As a Dharug-led Social Enterprise, we take great pride in providing support to the wider community through our financial counselling, facilitation of No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) and other community support, cultural education and advocacy as well as employment and training opportunities through our Caring for Country activities.”

Christopher Galloway — CEO

Muru Mittigar means pathway to friends. It’s an ethos embedded into all of our activities as a social enterprise.

For over 20 years we’ve been positively impacting the lives of Aboriginal people in Western Sydney, providing financial counselling services, small no-interest loans, help with energy bills, skills training and employment opportunities, as well as caring for the land and country in our landscaping and land management business.

At our Cultural Education Centre, we hold cultural awareness activities and events to educate and build stronger community relationships.

Muru Mittigar exists to make a difference in the lives of the people we train, employ, assist and serve across our three main divisions – Culture, Community and Country.

What We Do

We operate across three main divisions
Culture, Community, and Country.

Our Cultural activities include educational and training events, cultural awareness workshops, as well as cultural tourism, education and relationship-building experiences at our visitor centre in Western Sydney.

Our Community work supports our local communities from Western Sydney, providing financial counselling and advice, no interest loans, help with energy bills and Oz Harvest food services.

Our Work across Country means we train and deploy people in landscaping services, arboriculture, our native plant nursery, conservation and land management and work with customers in business and government.
