Muru Mittigar has a close, long standing business relationship with the Penrith Lakes Development Corporation (PLDC) which recognises that:

• PLDC was the initial 'sponsor'of Muru Mittigar's establishment and continues to be a major financial supporter;
• Muru Mittigar has a pivotal role to play in the development of the Penrith Lakes Scheme, particularly in respect to protection, management and interpretation of Aboriginal archaeological conservation sites, provision of specific monitoring rehabilitation and other related services and enhancement of community appreciation for the development in the context of its diverse and unique cultural and ecological history.

Muru Mittigar and PLDC will continue to maintain its close business relationship which is reflected in the Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.

Importantly, both organisations recognise that the relationship must move Muru Mittigar towards a future that is commercially sustainable.

In that context Muru Mittigar will continue to broaden its business base and diversify its business enterprises. For its part PLDC will continue to provide business development support to Muru Mittigar while at the same time, progressively placing the relationship on a more 'purchaser-provider' footing.
